IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY / ARTGR 270 / PROJECT 1 / FALL 2015
The below examples are final examples from the students who were in the class I taught Fall 2015. This is only the example of the first project from the class. The project statement states, when designing any system of related components, it’s important to have both unifying characteristics and differentiating ones. For example, consumers should be able to recognize a brand of milk across all of its products (due to unifying characteristics), but they should also be able to distinguish the whole milk from the skim (due to differentiating characteristics). In this assignment, the students experiment with the factors that provide unity and those that can provide variety within a system.
