UEL AND ISU

4/2/2015

This last week went by like a tornado on a small town.  There was not a moment to rest. Starting last Sunday Bernard Canniffe and I went to Mount Pleasant, Iowa.  3 hours of driving a 9 passanger van was quite the experience.  I enjoyed it so much through, that I made the trip two more times.  With driving from home to ames and Mount Pleasant and back that was 7 hours each trip.  21 hours of driving this week, not including regluar travel.  I don't regret a minute of it.  Maybe I do a little, on the last day, when I was driving into the sun after being up since 3:30 am...and I only regret it because it was hard to stay awake.

I met the most amazing people this week.  Tim Foster (instructor), Jack Shepherd, Alexis Simmons, Stefan Walker, Stuart Barr, Ella Blunden, Stephen Barrett (instructor), Andrew Osman (instructor), Jordan Lewis, Katie Diebelius, Louise Kwok, Thomas Kitto, Imani Turner
Charlie Gall.

Tim is fantastic to talk to.  He has so many interesting things to say.  Sometimes you don't feel there is enough time to capture it all.  Jack is awesome.  Alexis was so much fun to be around.  Stuart was a awesome driving buddy.  I really hope he ends up coming to Iowa State for his master's degree. Stefan has some great dancing skills, a amazing personality, and is very confident.  Wish I had some of his charisma.  Ella is beautiful and can tell she has a great heart.  Stephan and Andrew were so much fun to talk to when we all went out to welch.  I want to become a teacher in the UK now so I can work with people like them.  Jordon....was to say the least was a a pure joy to be around. His attitude towards life and people just made me smile.  Katie made me smile multiple times.  I felt like she and I could have great fun together if we lived closer. Michael was a hoot.  Glad to have another shorty to talk to. Thomas is also equally as great as the rest. Imani, I did not have a chance to talk to as often but I sensed from all the interactions she has a good soul. Charlie was a blast to talk to.  Wish we had had more opritunities to actually chat.  Enjoyed the short time we talked at Mickey's on Friday.

Here are a select few photos from the workshop I helped manage last weekend when they visited.  We had so much fun....well....at least I did.  I hope they did as well.  I wanted ISU to impress them.  I also learned so much from this work shop for my thesis.  Can not wait to move forward with working on my thesis after this work shop.  It allowed me to feel like I could make a difference and change peoples thinking and behavior.
