four Generations

This project was inspired by a project for a book binding class.  The project required that we create a collective book, or a book based on a collection.  I decided that for this project I would showcase the oil paintings done by people in my family.

The book was created based on four generations of artists.  A few days before I turned in the project, I had visited my grandmothers house.  While there I found hidden under a stair case, a painting created by my great great grandmother dated 1900.  The painting you will see in the gallery above is of the dog.

The final book ended up looking like this!
The printer's marks were showing after I bound the book.  So I decided to put corners on the cover to hide them.  I think it was probably one of the best ideas, because it really completed the book.
